Peek inside antique dealer Pagoda Red’s new warehouse gallery

As antique warehouse Architectural Artifacts auctions off its collection in a move to downsize, Pagoda Red—renown purveyor of Chinese fine art, antiques, and furniture—is consolidating its Fulton Market and Winnetka galleries into a new North Branch facility at the border of Chicago’s Bucktown and Lincoln Park neighborhoods.

Located at 1740 W. Webster Avenue, the 15,000-square-foot bow truss style building houses the company’s full collection of over 4,000 pieces, amassed over 20 plus years. Described as a “rough luxe” warehouse, the space is open to designers, clients, and design and antique enthusiasts. A blue porcelain chinoiserie-inspired exterior mural by street artist Amuse 126 hints to the treasures inside.

The consolidation of Pagoda Red’s collection coincides with its launch of new line of contemporary pieces that draw inspiration from its antique as well as a recently expanded website.

“Clients who have visited our Webster space tell us that they love the immediacy of that experience,” said company founder and creative director Betsy Nathan in a statement. “By offering access to the inner sanctum of all of Pagoda Red’s objects in both the real world and the virtual world, we’re making it easier to discover something new.”

The Webster Avenue warehouse is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. More information can be found on the company’s website.
